About Yoshi

food

Yoshi on Denman is traditional Japanese fine-dining at its best. The focus is to create authentic Japanese cuisine using local, seasonal and fresh ingredients from Japan as well as meticulous service to guests.

Ambiance

Entering the second-story fine-dining establishment is like taking a breath of fresh air: Yoshi is sleek and airy with stone floor tiles, navy blue décor offsetting grey and black accents, wall-to-wall views of the city, habour and historic Stanley Park. “We observe beautiful traditional customs,” says Tokyo-born head chef Kobayashi, referring to the ceremonial style in which guests are treated.

Style & Tradition

The style at Yoshi is best described as traditional Japanese cuisine augmented with some exciting local additions presented in a contemporary setting. Yoshi distinguishes itself from other fine-dining Japanese restaurants in several key areas: all of its chefs are Japanese and the quality of the ingredients.

Fresh & Quality

Yoshi offers menu specials on Tuesdays and Thursdays based on food that arrives fresh by air from Japan. Kobayashi and staff personally shop for the ingredients that comprise the menu and depending on the season, Kobayashi even selects certain ingredients from his own home garden.

Our Specialties

Two traditional dishes that have made Yoshi a unique experience are the Roasted Duck Breast and home-made buckwheat noodles. Guests who wish to experience traditional Japanese cuisine at its finest are invited to try Kaiseki and Mini Kaiseki. Yoshi's signature menu items.
